The research presented in this paper explores the feasibility of using comparatively inexpensive and highly modifiable virtual reality hardware and software combined with already existing eye tracking solutions to provide alternatives to the field of vision measurement. Virtual reality technology has been rising as a means for gaming for several years now, but the adaptation of this technology to other fields is still in progress. The technology required for such a solution already exists and some relevant prototypes have already been tested, but the applications of virtual reality usage in vision measurement are for now limited to relatively simple operations. The system proposed focuses on perimetry using integrated eye tracking as input for data gathering, software for data validation, and virtual reality headset to show the stimuli.
