Currently, food supply chains are under global pressure in the world to continually provide high-quality food constantly. Hence, in order to meet this expectation, sustainability plays a significant role by integrating economical, environmental and social aspects in this particular supply chain. On the other hand, due to globalisation and uncertainties in the business world, companies try to assign some of their activities to outsourcing companies such as logistics service providers (LSPs).
Thus, this work provides an orderly, extensive literature research to identify and study the sustainability dimensions and hence influence the outsourcing of food in the supply chain. Systematic literature review aims to provide the basis for formulating a conceptual model to establish the relationship between outsourcing and sustainability in the food supply chain.
